Who else is excited about ditching their summer clothes for some more layered looks? As we all start to switch out our closets, we might be thinking about adding in a few new items to make sure we are on-trend this Fall/Winter season. Although I’m a fan of my cropped black Tencel Jeans from Madewell, it’s great to have a few pairs of updated blue jeans in our closets. They layer effortlessly with Sweaters, or long coats and look great with winter boots and sneakers.
Here are a few of the hottest denim Trends for Fall-Winter 2020;
The High Waisted Flare
The 70’s revival is continuing strong. High waisted wide legs and flares (whether a bell bottom or a kick flare) remain a love story with those in the know. Darker shades of denim and black look polished with boots and sneakers.
The Skater & Carpenter Jean
Sk8tr Girls unite! These uber cool jeans resembles those we wore in the 90’s, the wide slouchy legs or carpenter pockets and even elastic waists and acid washes return.
The High Waisted Straight Leg
The classic straight leg jean returns, like the iconic 501 straight look with the high belted waists we all wore in the 80’s and 90’s. Step hems, frayed hems and lived in worn washes make these a classic look that works well on any body type. Great cropped with ankle boots, or sneakers and full length with boots. This is a year around staple you must have!
Skinny lovers rejoice. The out-of-style a few seasons skinny is back. Now in ivory, stone, washed black and grey alongside the classic blues. With rips, or seaming for a little Rock N’ Roll detail. Exposed snaps or shanks also have an ‘Almost Famous’ vibe.
The Tapered Jean
Also known as the ‘Mom Jean’, but now we also have ‘the Dad Jean’. The tapered or carrot jean is still a trend right piece to have in your wardrobe. This jean looks especially good when showing some midriff, and with cropped or tied tops, or cropped hoodies. Looks amazing with chunky sole Chelsea boots for the ultimate cool 90’s vibe.
